Welcome! This page is mainly for language-arts educators, but
you will find plenty of interesting things if you are a parent or simply a voracious reader!
Bookweaving is putting texts together in different ways...and "text"
can mean almost anything, from a book to a song to a television show to an experience.
I think bookweaving (or intertextuality, which is the official name)
is an important direction for English Education because of the very medium in which this text appears...the Internet.
I've also noticed that there is a real need out there for information
on research writing...I'm asked for help on that topic all the time. I think that research writing starts with "research
reading;" that is, reading things with the idea of synthesizing them in the back of one's mind.
It's just that "bookweaving" sounds like more fun than "research reading"
so here we are.
Feel free to look around for ideas that I have linked up from my own
experience and research with what I can find online.
